Review: Pilot Frixion Clicker Erasable Pen

Recently, we've started offering the complete range of Pilot products, including the popular Frixion erasable pens. One pen that immediately caught our attention and has become a personal favorite for everyday use is the Frixion Clicker Pen. Perfect for both sketching and writing!
The pen is primarily made of plastic with a smooth rubber grip and a transparent plastic clip, making it less prone to being lost. Its standout feature is the tribal pattern design.
Its key feature is its ability to erase ink. The eraser is located at the end of the pen, and rubbing it over the ink causes the ink to disappear due to the heat generated!
To be honest, we never really considered an erasable pen before. It's not something you'd typically think to seek out, let alone that such pens exist. What's surprising is that once you start using them, you won't want to go without them. It's like transitioning from traditional drawing to digital tablets—it's hard to go back once you're used to the convenience.
The pen uses friction heat to make the ink vanish like magic. We were pleasantly surprised by how well it erases. You do need to rub quite firmly, but once the heat builds up, the pen performs exactly as promised, erasing as cleanly as you'd expect from a pencil eraser, but with the advantage of leaving no eraser residue on the paper.
After erasing, you can still faintly see the words, similar to what you might experience with a pencil eraser. It's hardly noticeable when writing over the erased area unless you're actively looking for it. Though erasing large colored areas might be more noticeable.
Another magical effect of Frixion ink is that erased ink becomes visible again when the paper is placed in a freezer at about -10 degrees Celsius. While storing sketches in the freezer might not be common, it's still neat that alongside the "undo" function, there's now an "redo" function in analog form!
The smooth rubber grip ensures the pen feels comfortable in hand and stays put while writing. The Frixion is lightweight and well-balanced, making it suitable for extended use without causing hand fatigue.
Initially, the ink may seem watery and wet, but it dries quickly enough to prevent smudging. The tip feels good on paper, providing a pleasant writing experience. The 0.7 mm tip size delivers a nice line thickness, likely suitable for most writing and drawing purposes, giving clear letters regardless of handwriting size.
The Pilot Frixion is refillable and available in various vibrant colors. Checking the ink level isn't straightforward as the colored plastic casing conceals it. Holding the pen against light helps to gauge the ink level. To refill the pen, unscrew the body just below the grip.
At Suitup, we're big fans of the Pilot Frixion pens, using them for both writing and sketching/coloring. The eraser function is incredibly handy, and even if you don't use it all the time, knowing it's there is reassuring!
